Letter to a young woman

Dear young woman,

I hope you love how you feel in your body, that you don’ t compare yourself with others.

I hope you are aware of your gifts and use them to the best of your abilities and passions. I hope you have a range of feelings and emotions that signal you what you need and formulate your wants. I hope you go into partnerships listening to these signals.

I hope you have pleasurable sex and know your cycle - to really know your fertility cycle- which is different from the young woman by your side. There is no hard and fast rule that you ovulate on day 14 - I hope you learn to read the signs of your body like mucus and temperature and how you feel: so you can REALLY KNOW YOURSELF. There are great and reliable tools you can learn about, like the natural fertility method. I hope you can use this tool so you know where you are at, if you are fertile or not and make an informed choice if you want to have a baby when it’ s right/or not without relying on ‘googled’ contradictory information or rumours passed by your peers or Instagaram. I want you to have the best experiences ever and want you not to go through a potentially painful abortion. I say that because many young get carried away in the heat of the moment and compromised themselves - I have done so too. Knowing yourself, I hope you can teach your parters about your body and make them appreciate the cyclical nature of you which enables them to understand you better and to have a save and beautiful time together. I hope you say ‘yes’ when you want to say ‘yes’ and ‘no’ when you want to say ‘no’

I hope you can tell your doctor what has been happening for you- and you decide which treatment is and which isn’ t for you! You always have a choice!

I hope you learn ways to nurture your body & soul, give it the things it needs in any given moment. I hope you learn when to rest and when to be active.

I will always be here for you if you have questions. I will research them with you, learn with you, tell you all I know, give you tools and have an open ear.

You are unique! Your body is a miracle! And you got so much more to learn each day.
