The majority of us didn't grow up with a positive introduction to puberty, the wonders of the body and how to adequately self-care. The norm for many of us was shame and secrecy, hushed whispers and embarrassment, or (like in my case) the prophecy of my mother "how much pain I am gonna experience during my period".

The story doesn't have to look like this!

You can be a strong alliance and role model for your daughter!

Mothers have never been as unsupported as in these times. This needs to change.

Many of you want a deeper support in helping our girls to suss pre/puberty. Some of you might not have the confidence to bring up these topics or the vocabulary around physical and emotional puberty changes. Some of you might live with painful memories of experiences of growing up into a woman which gets into the way of connecting with your daughter about that complex topic. In order to be role models for the next generation we first need to do our own work. There is no way around this! Whatever your story: be welcome!

In this support circle you will

This group course will help you to gain the confidence to lead open conversations with your girls and everyone.

More about this circle

This offering was born from the desire to create deeper support systems in our society.

In my understanding mothers are not supported enough hence what important work they are doing on a daily basis.

Our Approach

These sessions are a mixture of Support Group, empowered knowledge and tool sharing that help you to support yourself and your daughter.

Each session a base theme guides our time together that is in relation with the physical and emotional changes during pre/puberty.

We gently blend holistic and create approaches in a safely held space.

Every session is informed by the last one depending your needs and the needs of the group.

You are highly encouraged to bring themes and questions that are relevant to you into the circle. Some examples what themes can look like: building confidence, self-empowerment, etc.

Hi, I am Friedel Fink - Holistic Health Educator specialised in women’ s health.

Communication wasn't a big strength of my single mum during my upbringing. I have found my voice and confidence by immersing myself in collaborative and personal relationships based on the principles of non violent communication and radical honesty.

I also practices as a Yoga & Meditation Teacher and Abdominal Massage Body Worker. My interdisciplinary background is rooted in the arts, education and interactive community projects and various holistic disciplines. I am passionate about finding creative and accessible ways that inspire for a positive body image, emotional resilience and a growing self-esteem cross culturally.

I founded Big Sis CIC in 2020, a UK based wellbeing platform developing girl empowerment initiatives to support girls and their families and schools to navigate growing up more gracefully.
